Guess How Much I Love You Sweetheart Edition

One of the world’s best-loved picture books, now with an elegant new cover, is the perfect way to share your affection with a loved one - of any age.

Since GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU was first published in 1995, this tale of two Nutbrown Hares who love each other to the moon and back has enchanted more than 13 million readers around the world. What may be a little-kept secret, however, is that many of those readers aren’t so little! With endearing simplicity, Sam McBratney’s beguiling text and Anita Jeram’s expressive illustrations have struck a universal chord. After all, who doesn’t like to be reminded that they’re loved, unconditionally and boundlessly?

Now spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, grown children and grandchildren, sisters, brothers, fond friends, and anyone else who would like to offer this book to their grown-up loved ones have a special edition just for them, complete with a bookplate that lets them fill in the fortunate recipient’s name. This beautiful cloth bound edition is a must-have for anyone who loves someone more than they can measure.

Sam McBratney says that the response to GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU "just took my breath away." The much-loved bestseller was the fifty-seventh book of the author's career, and his first book with Candlewick Press. In addition to authoring many books for children, Sam McBratney has written radio plays for adults and a prize-winning collection of short stories. He also worked for many years as a teacher. Married, with three grown children, he lives in Northern Ireland.

Anita Jeram says that illustrating GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU by Sam McBratney was a labor of love. "Every time I read this book, I want to cry," she says. Anita Jeram is the illustrator of many other popular and critically acclaimed picture books, including KISS GOOD NIGHT, DON'T YOU FEEL WELL, SAM? and YOU CAN DO IT, SAM by Amy Hest, and ALL PIGS ARE BEAUTIFUL by Dick King-Smith. She lives in Northern Ireland with her family and a menagerie of pets.

...So no, I can't remember much of my board book days—but I asked my mom, and she reminded me what my favorite read-alouds were. My number one was Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. It’s about Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare and how much they love each other—as high as they can reach, as high as they can jump, and right up to the moon and back. Knowing that it was a childhood favorite explains why I get this warm fuzzy feeling every time I look at it.
