Daoliang Li was born and raised in Shandong Province. He is a professor of agricultural electrification and automation at the China Agricultural University, having been appointed in 2003. He is the director of the National Innovation Center for Digital Fisheries, the China-EU Center for Information & Communication Technologies in Agriculture (CICTA), and the Beijing Engineering Research Center for the Internet of Things in Agriculture. He has also held visiting positions at the University of California Davis in the United States, the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom, etc.
