'What do I See By The Sea?' is a children's picture storybook suitable for ages 3 and up that celebrates the beautiful sights and sounds of a visit to the seaside. The story is set on an island off the coast of Maine, however, the pages are filled with scenery that a child might see and experience when out for a walk with his/her parent on any shoreline. Lushly illustrated with detailed watercolor paintings featuring a variety of animals, plants, and landscapes. The words are simple enough to be read by an emerging reader and the book is a great transition from board books to the next reading level. Endreketta has once again brought us into a very colorful and deeply moving setting and story that will delight readers both young and old.
Endreketta writes from memories inspired by places, people, and creatures who matter the most to her, choosing to share those treasured impressions through her words and illustrations with her readers. Her original artwork adds a very sentimental and timeless quality to her stories and poems.
"I was born on an island in the Pacific Ocean. A daughter to two adventurous souls who instilled in me an insatiable wanderlust. We moved often, new places, new friends, new experiences, which helped me become a keen observer of life. As I grew older, I loved exploring these places and immersing myself in their histories and cultures. These are the experiences that I write about. Writing and art are in my blood. And storytelling, well there is that too."
