Brookline Commission for the Arts - Chris Santos Emerging Artist Program The Chris Santos Emerging Artist program shall provide an annual designation and stipend for an artist, regardless of age, who is not yet widely recognized, to present their own work, promote emerging artists in the community, and contribute to the development of emerging artist venues and platforms in the Town of Brookline. The artist will be backed by the BCA and other town artists and advisors to accomplish their goals. The aims of program are as follows:
  • Feature artists of any age who reside in Brookline who are not yet widely recognized and/or may or may not yet have been featured singularly in any significant exhibit or performance
  • Gain insight from the selected emerging artist on barriers and opportunities to promote the arts
  • Act on identified opportunities to create and/or expand inclusive places and events that can highlight a variety of perspectives and experiences to Brookline residents
  • Provide direct support to emerging artists through mentoring, social networking, and media exposure
