Third Thursdays Poetry: July

Debora Kuan is the author of three poetry collections XING, Lunch Portraits, and the forthcoming Women on the Moon. She has been awarded a U.S. Fulbright creative writing fellowship (Taiwan), as well as residencies at Yaddo, Macdowell, and the Santa Fe Art Institute. Her work has appeared in Poetry, The New Republic, Kenyon Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Boston Review, The Baffler, Fence, The Iowa Review, ZYZZYVA, and other publications, and her art criticism has appeared in Artforum, Art in America, Modern Painters, Paper Monument, and other magazines. She has been widely anthologized in publications such as the Brooklyn Poets Anthology, Advanced Language and Literature, What Things Cost: An Anthology for the People, and the forthcoming Poetry Studio: Prompts for Poets. She is the current poet laureate of Wallingford, CT, where she lives with her family.

Adam Scheffler grew up in California, received his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and his Ph.D. in English from Harvard. His first book of poems – A Dog’s Life – won the 2016 Jacar Press book contest. His second book of poems – Heartworm – won the 2021 Moon City Press Prize and just came out this winter. His poems have appeared in The Yale Review, The American Poetry Review, Narrative, Verse Daily, and many other venues. He teaches in the Harvard College Writing Program and his website is adamscheffler.com.

Keith Jones is the author of Echo’s Errand (Black Ocean) and the poetry chapbooks, blue lake of tensile fire (Projective Industries), shorn ellipses (Morning House), the lucid upward ladder (Verse), Fugue Meadow (Ricochet Editions), and Surface to Air, Residuals of Basquiat (Pressed Wafer). His poems have appeared in Barrow Street, Chicago Review, Denver Quarterly, Flag + Void, Harvard Review, and elsewhere. He teaches in the Africana Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and is the Poet-in-Residence at the New England Conservatory.

Will Schutt is the author of Westerly, winner of the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, and translator of My Life, I Lapped It Up: Selected Poems of Edoardo Sanguineti, among other works from Italian. For his translations of Fabio Pusterla’s poetry he received the Raiziss/de Palchi Award from the Academy of American Poets.
