Third Thursdays Poetry: June

Deborah Schwartz is the author of two full-length poetry collections: Wind of the House, Voice of the Stream, of the Dream That you Dream, While We Turn You Around (Kattywompus Press, 2022,) and A Girl Could Disappear Like This (Kattywompus Press, 2019.) She is a Professor in the English Department at Bunker Hill Community College where she is a member of the Sum Poets collective.

Kevin McLellan is the author of: in other words you/ (selected by Timothy Liu for the 2022 Hilary Tham Capital Collection), Hemispheres (in the Poetry Center at the University of Arizona and other special collections), Ornitheology (2019 Massachusetts Book Awards recipient); [box] (in the Blue Star Collection at Harvard University and other special collections), Tributary, and Round Trip. Kevin makes videos under the name, Duck Hunting with the Grammarian. His video Dick won Best Short Form Short Film at the LGBTQ+ Los Angeles Film Festival. It also showed in the Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival, the Tag! Queer Film Festival, the Berlin Short Film Festival, and the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

Jason Tandon is the author of five books of poetry, including This Far North, The Actual World, and Give over the Heckler and Everyone Gets Hurt, winner of the St. Lawrence Book Award from Black Lawrence Press. His poems have appeared in Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, The Southern Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Beloit Poetry Journal, among others. He teaches in the Arts & Sciences Writing Program at Boston University.

Josette Akresh-Gonzales is the author of Apocalypse on the Linoleum (Lily Poetry Review Press). Her work has been published in The Southern Review, The Indianapolis Review, JAMA, The Pinch, The Journal, Breakwater Review, PANK, and many other journals. A recent poem has been included in the anthology Choice Words (Haymarket). She co-founded the journal Clarion and was its editor for two years. Josette lives in the Boston area with her husband and two boys and rides her bike to work at a nonprofit medical publisher. Website: Tweets @Vivakresh.
